Troubleshoot an engine or plugin connection
Identify whether the editor, project, plugin, first import, or rebuild is the missing step without downloading an engine through Avori.
Use this guide with Avori
Open Avori, then keep this guide beside it while you follow the steps. Avori does not receive the page text, your account, your project, or anything you typed.
If nothing opens, start Avori normally. The written steps still work.
Before you start
- Install and open a supported Unity, Godot, or Unreal editor separately.
- Know which local project you intend to connect.
Plan and model funding
Detecting an editor, connecting a project, and waiting for import or rebuild do not use model funding. A later model request follows the funding source shown in Avori.
Say this in ordinary language
Tell me which connection step is missing for this project. Do not change the project until I approve it.
Steps
-
1
Open the intended project in its editor, then open Avori.
What you should see: Avori either detects the project or offers Connect an existing project.
-
2
Choose the detected project or browse to the correct project folder.
What you should see: Avori names the engine and project before installing or checking its plugin.
-
3
If Avori reports that the editor is missing, install it separately. If import, compilation, or rebuild is running, let it finish.
What you should see: Avori does not download the engine and does not claim the project is ready early.
-
4
Choose Continue after the editor opens, Continue after rebuild, or Retry only for the state Avori names.
What you should see: The exact project connects, or Avori gives a specific recovery message without changing another project.
What Avori may change
Avori may install or refresh its plugin in the selected project after approval. It does not install the engine itself.
How to verify it worked
The Avori panel and Hub show the same project, and a safe no-change question returns context for that project.
Undo or recover
Close the wrong project and select the correct one. Remove Avori's plugin through the engine's normal project workflow only if you intentionally want to disconnect it.
Common problems
- Unity may need to finish its first import or compilation.
- Godot must be a supported version.
- An Unreal project may require a C++ class and a completed rebuild before the plugin can load.
